That started from a random chat between me and Mr. J, back to the day while we were talking about our career path and probably our ultimate goal before we get 30 (yes, I am now almost 30 years old).

Mr. J has never been a person who can easily satisfy with his current life. If you try to find a thing he is eagerly pursuing, that must be faith. A faith that leads him towards another greater difference than the previous himself. A faith that foster him an ace player combining his strength in computer science and art. Yes, once you figured a strong faith in him, it has become my honor to help him in pursuit of his faith.

It is true that Mr. M has helped a lot during Mr. J’s time working on applying his master’s program, but you can not overlook his hard-working which is actually the key to his success. In Mr. J’s sharing, he mentioned that Mr. M has done a lot of survey of top-100 universities and schools in the states. The truth is that I have done a master’s degree in the UK so I am quite experienced in school admissions. Here I have listed a couple of things I did for Mr. J’s application.

  1. Create a spreadsheet and list all related programs (computer science, information management, and human-computer interaction) from top-100 universities in the states.
  2. Columns include basic admission requirements, the URL of the program details, and any other conditions to fulfill. Of course, the GPA requirement is so important to Mr. J and we all know why.
  3. During the break time at work, we quickly went through all the information and he will let me know if he need any further information for certain programs.

I did this to let him focus on his study for GRE and TOEFL. During his preparation for the two tests, he got to the office at least one-hour before the normal working time to study. He stayed in the library until the close time EVERY night after work. Trust me, Mr. M is not compulsory to his success. It’s his own hard-working and faith that leads him there.

Mr. J will still get there without Mr. M, because his faith is unbeatable. You have to believe that’s the only way you go, and you are willing to sacrifice everything to get there. No pain no gain. This is something we all know, but only few people understand. Nothing will stop him from chasing his own faith. Mr. M might be a plus to his success, but I am 100% sure he can still make it without Mr. M.

Yes I am Mr. M, and I did all this because I admire his faith, along with the strong brotherhood between us. You’ll understand this if you have ever met a person who cares a lot about you and can always be honest to you when you are doing something wrong.
