“I know”

Why I don’t usually say that anymore

Back when I was a teenager I though it’s critical to show everybody else that I’m no longer a baby and that I know and can do a lot.

Saying that you don’t know something in the kids or teen world can spoil your day but in the adults world it’s actually a good thing to say.

Not knowing something is normal. In fact, most people don’t know most of the things. Recognizing the lack of knowledge is a very good the first step towards getting to know and understanding the subject. It will also allow people around to help you learn by sharing their expertise.

It is still scary to say “I don’t know” and “I don’t understand”. Thankfully, I work with great people and it never get’s me in trouble but instead makes me more confident and comfortable at work over time.
