The WorkHound team is delighted to announce that we are joining the Dynamo Accelerator!

What is WorkHound?

WorkHound is a software platform built to help carriers keep drivers and improve the truck driver experience. Truck drivers use their smartphones to share feedback and ideas with the carrier, which WorkHound aggregates and turns into actionable insights to help manage and retain drivers. WorkHound is co-founded by Andrew Kirpalani and Max Farrell.

What is the Dynamo Accelerator?

Dynamo is a mentor-driven innovation program, specializing in logistics, transportation, and supply chain startups. The managing directors built Access America Transport, which sold to Coyote Logistics in a multi-hundred million dollar deal. This group understands logistics, has deep ties to trucking, and global connections to every part of the supply chain. Since the sale of their company they’ve made over twenty investments in high growth startups.

Dynamo’s program has invited 10 logistics-focused companies from around the world and WorkHound is one of them. The Chattanooga-based program focuses on expanding companies’ networks with industry-specific mentors and world class partners like GE Ventures. Over the next three months Dynamo will open the door to customer opportunities and help teams like WorkHound increase the speed at which they operate.

Why accelerate now?

WorkHound started a year ago with the mission “people should love the work they do”. We’ve grown from an idea to providing a voice for thousands of drivers at trucking companies across the US. Since our launch, we’ve helped drivers and carriers improve how they operate in many ways:

•We’ve helped trucking companies use driver feedback to change their load planning procedures

•Drivers have gotten pay issues resolved by using our platform

•Carriers retained drivers that were hours away from quitting by addressing their issues

•Carriers identified problem personnel in the office and used the driver data to make internal changes

It’s been thrilling to create value like this, but our work is only getting started. Participating in Dynamo signifies it’s time to put some rocket fuel behind our platform.

Finding the fit

Our team at WorkHound is starting in the trucking industry. Finding partners in the Dynamo team is a huge win. They understand this industry, have a passion for helping truck drivers, and they understand the power of people. Culture is key with the Dynamo team and that sealed the deal for us. We wanted these guys as partners and fortunately, they wanted us.

In addition to the Dynamo team, we’ll be spending three months working with nine awesome logistics-focused teams. I’m happy to share there are no “anti-problems” being solved here. All the teams are working on meaningful solutions to real world challenges in the $1.5 trillion logistics space. Andrew and I are happy to spend time building in that environment every day.

Putting the pedal to the metal

I am proud of the work we’ve done in a year in this ignored industry. We will keep building to give a voice to the millions of under-represented workers out there.

As we grow, we have the opportunity to expand this platform to other industries like manufacturing, nursing, and other parts of the supply chain. Until then, our focus is on helping drivers and carriers improve every day.

Chattanooga — we’re excited to get to know one another.

Drivers — if you’re passing through Chattanooga soon, give us a shout — coffee is on us.

Carriers — we’re helping your peers every day, we want to help you too!
