Definition of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)

OKRs, or Objectives and Key Results, is a framework for setting and tracking performance goals. This method has gained widespread acceptance and is used in organizations of all sizes. Many people believe that OKRs were first introduced by John Doerr, who implemented the framework at Google in 1999. However, the OKR methodology was actually championed earlier by Andy Grove, the former CEO of Intel, in the 1970s, and even earlier by Peter Drucker, who developed his Management by Objectives (MBO) framework in the 1950s.
