Austin Majors, renowned for his early stardom on “NYPD Blue,” has tragically passed away due to complications arising from fentanyl toxicity, as confirmed by Fox News Digital.

The place of his unfortunate demise was documented as his residence, and authorities have categorized it as an “accidental” incident, according to official reports shared by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

A representative from the LA County Medical Examiner’s office disclosed to Fox News Digital that the investigation into the case remains ongoing.

Austin Majors, whose legal name is recorded as Austin Setmajer-Raglin, breathed his last on February 11th. The sad announcement was conveyed to Fox News Digital by his family at that time.

In a heartfelt statement, his family expressed, “Austin Majors (Setmajer-Raglin) possessed an artistic brilliance and a kind soul. His acting career brought him immense joy and pride. From his earliest days, he had an uncanny ability to connect with people, and his life’s purpose revolved around spreading happiness.”

Following his passing, Austin’s sister Kali took to Facebook to share her sentiments.

“My beloved elder brother, Austin, has departed from this world. He left us last night. The reality of it all is still sinking in. At just 27, he had so much life ahead,” she wrote alongside a moving slideshow of cherished images.

Austin Majors graced our screens for a span of seven seasons on the acclaimed series “NYPD Blue.” This role subsequently opened doors for him to make notable guest appearances on shows like “According to Jim,” “American Dad!,” “Desperate Housewives,” “An Accidental Christmas,” and “How I Met Your Mother.”

Dennis Franz, Austin’s co-star on “NYPD Blue,” expressed his profound shock upon learning about the untimely passing of his colleague.

“Austin consistently radiated a sense of joy while on set; he had the power to bring smiles and lightness to everyone around him,” Franz conveyed in a statement addressed to Fox News Digital.

He fondly recollected, “Some of the most cherished moments from my twelve-year journey on ‘NYPD Blue’ are the ones involving ‘Sipowicz’ and ‘Theo.’ On every day that Austin joined us, I would greet him with a special tune, ‘It’s Austin Majors’ Day,’ sung playfully to the melody of ‘Howdy Doody Time.’”
