Need for sex
In the commercial for PETA animal care, it has a split screen and both sides are people having sex. One man is a meat eater, and the other is a vegan and the vegan man seems to last longer because he is a vegan. This freudian advertisement has an extreme amount of need for sex throughout the entire ad and captures the consumer in right from the start.
This ad shows need for sex because it states that if you stop eating animals you’ll end up having better sex with your girlfriend, and she’ll be more satisfied and happy with you. It also has two people on each half of the screen, demonstrating exactly what could happen if they were to not eat mean. It also could go under need for safety because towards the very end of the commercial, the man who was the meat eater got hit by an air conditioner that was being dropped by another tenant, for some odd reason, and it’s saying that if he were to last a little bit longer in bed, that would not have happened. The reason it is very Sigmund Freud style is because it taps into a persons desires and maybe make them remember that one time that they could either relate to either the people on the left or the people on the right.
All in all, while this ad wasn’t exactly factually right, it was funny. The fact that it started out with two people just having sex brought the consumer in and made them really watch it whether they wanted to or not.
