The story of Jesus has shaped Christianity for a very long time. But some parts of his story look a lot like old myths from other cultures. This makes some people wonder if the story of Jesus is just an old tale told in a new way.

Many old myths from different places tell about gods who die and then come back to life. These stories usually try to show what people think about life and what happens after death.

Osiris and Jesus

Osiris is a well-known god from ancient Egypt. He was a king who taught people about farming and laws. His brother Set got jealous and killed him. Osiris’s wife, Isis, was unfortunate and searched everywhere for him. She found his body used magic to bring him back to life, but just for a short time to have their son, Horus. After that, Osiris became the king of the Underworld, where people go after they die.

Now, if we look at Jesus’ story, some things seem similar. Like Osiris, Jesus was a teacher, too. He shared his wisdom with the people around him.
