The historical reference is interesting and apt. Early Christians living in the Roman Empire were a puzzle to their pagan countrymen. It was a common complaint of local authorities that the Christians stolidly refused to burn so much as a stick of incense to the emperor-gods, leading to them being blamed for crop failures and river risings.
Rand Hooks, in answering Jason E’s question about why a correspondent’s skin color was important, characterizes the article as “about hatred towards white men”, which demonstrates that neither he nor Jason E actually read the article. Or having read it, failed to comprehend it.
Try reading the entire article. The OP is asking that exact question—why does skin color and/or gender matter so much to so many white males?
I agree with you entirely that we are all members of one human family and that we must appreciate differences of ethnicity, skin color, gender etc, if we can and at least overlook them…
