Could we rest assured of our humanity and truly tell life is a story of love?

So what if we’re all sick

and my thoughts are your thoughts

and my loneliness is your loneliness

and all that sets us apart is merely a matter of honesty over time…

What if my cracking, my breaking down

is your deepest fear exposed

your everyday denial

the responsibility you don’t wanna take

the human you’re failing to be…

What then if we never stop

if we never acknowledge our pain

if we never look into each other’s eyes

if we keep on shaming vulnerability…

And repeat the daily act

pretending to be whole

avoiding the silence,

filling in the gaps with one more promotion,

one more award, one more party

distracting our hearts from confronting the mirror

scared to slow down

scared to do less and be more

Could we live with that?

Could we rest assured of our humanity and truly tell life is a story of love?
