John Turturro Mines the Human Dilemma in ‘The Night Of’

"JOHN TURTURRO: You see it in real trials. Everything is relative. John says, “I don’t want to be stuck with the truth.” Really, the world is more in the gray zone than in the black and white zone. All of us have our versions of the truth and all of us have our reasons."

I love what he says here because it's exactly the way I feel... I always say there are facts and then there's circumstances, the truth depends on how you interpret both. That's why I get so frustrated when authority figures don't care about anything other than facts or evidence, why waste tax payer money and the court's time unnecessarily rather than spending a few extra moments of their own to just listen? (Ok, I don't think I expressed that thought very well but hopefully you get my point).
