Andela Boot camp week one Day 5

Whoa, It’s Friday! End of boot camp week one, other than going for a party am taking my time off to have the longest sleep. I have endured days of little or no sleep, looking at the mirror that guy i see tells me he needs some rest.

It is interesting how the human brain works once you set it to do something that thing becomes a matter of urgency and all the others become suspended until the urgent one is accomplished. Take for example a computer, believe it or not it schedules it’s tasks, but during execution if another tasks that is critical shows up the rest need to be suspended. Probably you may never have noticed that but it happens all the time in your computer. It was that way, and the critical part in the whole process is the computer processor (the brain of a computer as it is called) which acts like our brain. OK, away with this computer-brain thing. Having positive mindset goes along way in self development.

Up to this point the Andela-fellow journey has had it’s fair share of up’s and down’s: Staying awake at odd hours trying to figure out why the code isn’t executing as expected, learning something new and applying as you go, did i mention having to relocate your work station after the light go out? Yeah it’s real . The approach of implementing something as you go is fun, i will compare it to throwing a newbie in a swimming pool deep-end and they have to figure out what they should do, it has it’s own kind excitement.

All these experiences are nothing compared to the joy you feel when you see yourself accomplishing things you never did before. During this journey i have learnt to share the knowledge i have putting effort to help others, the joy is even bigger when you see your friends able to unblock themselves from the blockers they were experiencing.

This week one of my team mate quit because he lost his brother, Kelvin i pray for you peace at this time.

So here we are waiting for our feedback of week 1 in order to know if one is progressing to week two, i am crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. One thing is constant though learning never ends.
