Let’s talk about the criminal justice system
elizabeth tobey

This is a long overdue conversation that has needed to happen years and years ago. I commend Medium for the guts to get it started. I hope that it will be a frank and honest discussion about the realities of how the criminal justice system really operates in this country and the millions of African-Americans who are forever enslaved within it. America has had a blind eye to the real price of the so-called “war on drugs” and mandatory minimums which are nothing more than revisions of old “Jim Crow” racism designed to remove African-American men from the socio-economic landscape of this country. Its time to wake up! Ignorance is no longer an excuse. Thanks Medium. Bravo.
