…ost limitless resources, can’t cultivate design expertise in new arenas as quickly as design firms. Design firms are in a position to spread the investment across clients and industries, enabling them to reduce their risk and move quickly.
I don’t see the threat to design firms as existential. There will always be clients that can’t build the right team internally or that want the objectivity and expertise that a design firm offers.
I’ve seen beautiful, neat, innovative work. I’ve seen designers experiment with interesting layouts, and wonderful site designs. But if I find myself lost — if I can’t navigate your site quickly and easily, I’m frustrated.
