Say what you will about the value of a Netflix binge, but the fact that it has untethered us from broadcast schedules and the overwhelm of ads has made my world a better place.

Ads aside, it could be argued that broadcast schedules also limited the time you could spend stuck to the screen, and that now that we have full control, it’s possible to spend more time watching TV continuously than it ever was before.
