Beauty from hardship

Lilium “After Eight”

I took down a branch from the Cherry tree, which had a strange growth on it, and instead of pulling it toward me I threw it away, (i was kinda far up the ladder, and Cherry is very heavy. It was a poor decision but it let go quickly and I had to do something fast. I had the saw in one hand, and realized the branch was too heavy but to drop the saw would have been even dumber). It didn’t clear the Lily bed beneath it. Landed right on this newly opened beauty. I cursed loudly, but in reality, the petal being knocked off makes for an alluring stamen statement, so I wasted my pissed-off-ness. I should have saved it for the horse fly which wouldn’t leave my right ear alone.
