Bringing in the Milk (Or, The Day That God Went Out of Me)

God’s steadfast prayer is that we see Him in ourselves and carry Him
carefully to the world. Careful as a little girl holds a milk jug, so as not
to drop and break it . . .

LBM 6/19/03 (one of my earliest memories is bringing in the glass milk jug off the front steps, to surprise my sleeping parents. It broke all over the carpet and milk and glass on carpet, well, I probably deserved their “How could you be so stupid.” Then again, I was only trying to be helpful. I was three. And I got used to the “wow are you stupid” thing, and believed it, even through college).
