FLY
Jul 23, 2017 · 1 min read
All these years, i have sheltered my soul. Tenderly guarded the deeply shattered fragments of my broken heart, and carried them to safety.
Out of the rubble of my life i built a safe, warm nest, and gently laid this fragile soul of mine, this bird who could not fly, to rest.
‘Gather your strength,’ i whispered. ‘Watch and dream. One day you will unfold your floppy wings and fly, out of this place of shattered souls, wounded wings and broken dreams.’
Soaring, singing into the wildish wind, tasting the sweetness of the freedom that you have earned, they cannot reach you now. Do not look down. Blink back your tears and pray: a perfect prayer of peace, for those you have left behind.
