Swallowtail on Zinnia

Got my Swallowtail visit, am happy now, though would have been happier had it stayed, but it did stay long enough for me to sprint and fetch my camera, and then took off, and despite my vigilant hoping it would return, never did. Why??? I don’t use pesticides, I water & weed the garden and my aura is mostly loving, unless you are a rodent come to wreak havoc. lol. In the olden days, the garden was a beautiful sanctuary, a peaceful Eden. Perhaps by banishing the rodents (i’ve rehomed 52 squirrels and dug up 3 groundhog burrows. Not to mention the chipmunks) I’ve upset the delicate balance of beauty and…. nah. I used to feel I was being punished, that I was selfish, to want beauty without suffering. It was sweet, how the butterflies and dragonflies and bees and frogs and snakes would all come to hang out with me in the flowers. The Bumblers come every day, but the others, well, I don’t know where they are. I miss their visits. The point is, why did the Swallowtail leave the banquet so quickly? (oh my. i am back to asking why.)

wildflowers seeds from a dollar store box. Best money spent ever.
