I Don’t Have Time.

The sun hasn’t even risen yet and you’re already wondering how much time will pass before you can get back into bed. Your eyes burn and feel sticky with the sleep that’s enticing you to come and take it, come back to bed, go back and close your eyes. Looking at the clock, you see there’s about 45 minutes of sleep you could take without being late. You had an hour but, well…you’re sitting up in bed trying to force the sleepy feeling out and time is passing. It’s tempting, this whole going back to sleep thing, because you think of all the “self care” enthusiasts telling you not to be so hard on yourself, don’t overdo it, “you need time”.
