Cartesian dualism is an extremely old theory, founded by the man who invented the Cartesian plane. He was a famous philosopher who pioneered much of the work today, but clearly his Mind & Body theory did not prevail. Hundreds of years ago, philosophers were less concerned with scientific evidence (of which there was much less, too) in their postulations.

This is exactly why I attack Cartesian dualism and move on to a reductionist approach, eventually settling for an emergentist approach.
