My only caution here Claire is for people to be careful of coming across as passive-aggressive. I worked with a fellow who qualified feedback with an “it’s just a suggestion, but I’m open to your way” comment. Turned out this was subtext for him doing whatever he wanted. It was an anxiety inducing and destabilizing behaviour for many in the organization.
