WASHINGTON, D.C. — — Wikileaks has once again attempted to expose DNC motives by releasing a total of 29 voicemails — 14 minutes of audio — to the public late on Wednesday evening.
The voicemails were specifically posted just before Vice President Joe Biden and President Barack Obama were to address the Democratic National Convention, according to NBC news, on its [3rd] day.
They are related directly to the batch of about 20,000 leaked emails WikiLeaks published earlier this week, which revealed that elements within the supposedly neutral DNC were in fact working to help Hillary Clinton secure the Democratic nomination, and ultimately led DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to announce her resignation, CNN reports.
News reports tell and evidence shows that many of the voicemails, like the emails, contain harsh criticism of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ political platform and potential favorability of Clinton by the DNC early in the [2016] Presidential Race, as well as a good bit speakers calling to make an inquiry about someone by the name of “Andrew” on the topic.
RT reports, however, that most of the voicemail messages are simply leaving names and numbers for a call back, or leaving reminders about conference calls.
The majority of the messages last a few seconds, and indicating only that the person has called and wants “Andrew” to call back, as indicated by the Washington Times. It is believed that this “Andrew” is Party Finance Director Andrew Wright, whom one caller had reached out to in a voicemail to speak her piece on the topic of Senator Sanders receiving such welcoming treatment by the DNC initially.
According to reports from CNN, she was angry the party was acquiescing to Sanders by allowing liberal activist and prominent Sanders surrogate Cornel West to have one of 15 seats on the party’s platform-writing panel.
“I’m furious about what you are doing for Bernie Sanders, he’s getting way too much influence. I’m on a fixed income, I spent over $300, donated to Hillary, what I see is the DNC bending over backwards for Bernie and Bernie is the worst person in the world to even be running in the Democratic Party, because he’s not a Democrat. Please don’t give in to him,” the woman stated in her voicemail to Wright.
The fact that the files surfaced just hours before [President Barack Obama] was set to speak at the Democratic National Convention is sure to raise more questions about leakers’ intent to disrupt Hillary Clinton’s campaign during her party’s nominating convention, Politico reports, or garner some form of justice for Senator Sanders.
A good few of the voicemail messages had more to do with the relationship between party donors and the favors they seek.
Additionally, two other callers asked about how to reach Michelle Obama and another was from a woman asking for a favor, according to Fox News reports.
Wikileaks has put up a page containing 29 mp3 files of calls identified by phone number. Cybersecurity experts have come to the conclusion that Russia stands to blame for these recent DNC leaks.
Currently, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is under investigation by the U.S. Justice Department for his role in the organization’s leak of sensitive diplomatic cables during Clinton’s four years as secretary of state, NBC news reports.
Assange exclaimed in an interview last month that it was his “personal perspective” that a Clinton presidency would be “a bit of a problem for freedom of the press.” He then stated that more negative Clinton leaks are on the way.
