I Am That KSU Girl

Helping girls find self-love and positivity.

I AM THAT GIRL is a movement inspiring girls to love, express, and be exactly who they are. I Am That Girl KSU was created to give the girls of Kent State University a place to go and know that they are not alone. I AM THAT GIRL is helping girls to transform self-doubt in to self-love by providing a safe space to connect and have honest conversations about things that matter.

“Being a girl is hard enough. Adding college and a new lifestyle creates even more stress. Everyone deserves to be happy and feel good about themselves and that is my goal,” said the Kent State chapter’s president Marisa Stephens.

Marisa was inspired to start the group after watching a video from a “I AM THAT GIRL” campaign. She hopes that the group will grow more each year and that girls on campus will reach out to the group for support.

I AM THAT GIRL is shifting girl culture. They built a community for girls to be seen, be heard, and belong. I AM THAT GIRL has over 175 local chapters, an online community of over 700,000 girls, and has reached over 5 million people.

Joining is pretty simple. I Am That KSU Girl welcomes anyone with open arms and you can find them on Wednesday nights at 8pm in Bowman Hall, room 208.
