Thanks for such an awesome read!
Love the CTA format for this one… and totally agree, as writers in tech, many of us have a unique chance to craft the language behind a company’s products and culture. This can be taken as both an opportunity and a responsibility.
Not only do we get to craft the human voice for a company, helping to create a message that resonates with consumers, but we often can sort of indirectly steer a company’s direction by helping to foster a healthy company persona and culture through positive language that inspires and encourages those around us to be better people.
Now, I realize that sounds idealistic, but I believe language is very powerful! And, while obviously, writers are often hired by businesses to achieve business goals (i.e. make more money), I believe we can really affect businesses in a positive way by delivering their message clearly, being honest about products & showing how they work rather than just telling, and creatively injecting humanity into company blog posts (highlight tech initiatives out there working to solve problems for the greater good, interview people working in your organization to show off the human-side of things, work with your technical teams to craft tutorials that tell a memorable story.)
There really is a lot we can accomplish just from the tech marketing, content creation side of things! I realize I’ve not even mentioned AI here, but I definitely believe that this space has a lot to offer writers… a super cool intersect of the arts and sciences.
