The Shoot

Wherever I go, I’m always on the lookout for great shots. When I hike Runyon Canyon this becomes especially fruitful because the scenery is highly conducive to capturing something wonderful. Depending on the weather, cloud cover and how many locals are around, the possibilities are endless.

On this particular day, after reaching one of the upper ridges I noticed a couple looking out over the city. Initially, there were many people around blocking the shot.

So I waited.

Until finally, everyone left and they stood alone.

For the final version, I converted to B&W and adjusted the tone a bit until I achieved the look I wanted.

Lesson Learned

Patience. Don’t “make” the shot…wait for it.
