PSALM 10
The world is falling apart and you couldn’t care less. I can never understand how you can remain silent when Churches are burning, Kids are dying, Women are enslaved, Marriages are falling apart and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down at all. You seem distracted. Do other things matter more than the injustices that are taking place in the streets of our cities? I have to confess I am finding it very difficult to belong with you. I fear to trust you, love you, and have hope in you.
How can I speak about love when your silence seems to shout hate?
How can I teach about life when your words seem dead?
How can I be the light when darkness perpetuates?
How can I walk in freedom when you can care less for those enslaved?
Dear Church.
Dear God.
Are you listening?
The world is waiting.
I am ready.
“Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.
You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them.”
