The fact that hamburger menus are a bad choice is backed up by actual numbers and is proven by companies that make money on time spent in-app.

Mobiscroll — This is a misleading and inaccurate blanket statement. While it may hold true in apps, the web is different animal altogether. It also very much depends on your goals, strategy, and design. I’ve seen massive postive impact on key UX metrics and behavior using the hamburger.

And, I hope you’re not referring to the NNG research for “numbers”, there was so much wrong in their testing method and findings. There are no less than 8 different ways their research was flawed and should be cosidered with caution.
