Why Donald Trump is Underrated

Donald Trump is underrated. He has been labeled in every conceivable negative way, yet no one seems to acknowledge what the facts suggest — he is an entrepreneur with an uncanny ability to make things happen even when no one else believes it is possible.

A prime example is one of his first major deals in Manhattan, a proposal to turn the then decaying Commodore Hotel into a modern hotel backed by a major hotel chain. He was introduced to George Ross, his right hand man on the original Apprentice series, and his legal counsel on the project, who said that turning around the hotel, and by ripple effect the decaying neighborhood, was a brilliant idea, but he would never be able to pull it off.

After Trump managed through incredible tenacity, bravado, and negotiation skill to make the deal happen, renovating not only a hotel but also a neighborhood, and aiding in the revitalization of Manhattan when it was in major decay and on the brink of bankruptcy, George Ross knew that this was a guy to watch.

After this deal, he managed to put together the many difficult pieces of the puzzle required to build Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, no small negotiating feat. This is the same guy who renovated the Wollman Rink in four months for $2.25 million dollars after the city failed to do it in six years with $13 million.

The same guy, who, after facing near financial disaster, bought a skyscraper in lower Manhattan, once the tallest building in the world, for a reported $1 million, and renovated it into a stellar income producing properly now worth hundreds of millions of dollars, engineering what the Guinness book of world’s records called the greatest financial turn-around in history, recovering from $900 million in personal debt.

The same guy who had one of the best selling business book of all time with his first book, and a TV show which debuted at number one, one of the only business based TV shows to do so.

He has an extremely successful business, a great family as reported by those who know him well, and a star on the Hollywood walk of fame — in short, he has no reason to run for president other than to improve the condition of the country. He already has all the wealth, fame, and success a person can handle.

Although he is an aggressive self-promoter, he was never given a chance by nearly any of the media outlets, his campaign was not taken seriously from day one. No one seemed to think he would last beyond the first few debates, let alone be the dominant front runner as measured by popular vote after a field of 17 candidates was narrowed down to 3. Now the other candidates are gone and he is the presumptive GOP nominee.

The score is 16–0 with one more to go for a first time politician with hardly a year of experience. There is no telling where his campaign will go from here, but one thing is for certain, it would be a fool’s bet to rule out his chances for doing the unexpected.
