Things I Want Myself To Understand

Part One

You’re not always annoying.
This includes the times that you get excited over little things, talk a bit too loudly, and even when you accidentally act like you know more about music than everyone else. You’re not annoying.

You don’t hate everyone, and you know it.
Despite the fact that people disappoint, shock, and irritate you, you always look for the best in people. That’s a genuinely good quality of yours. Try hard not to become disenchanted with humanity. Human beings are terribly complex, and that’s what makes us all so interesting (and, unfortunately, heartbreaking).

Look up.
Seriously, just keep looking up. Figuratively and literally. Look up, but remember to keep your nose at a friendly level.

The future is comprised of a whole lot of now.
It’s corny to say, but it’s really true. Do what makes you happy, and you’ll never regret your choices. You get so caught up in wanting to “get your life together,” that you stop actually doing anything. You overwhelm yourself with what you want to be, that you forget to be present.

Don’t be afraid to vent.
At this point, posting your feelings like this is just about the best thing you can do for yourself. You need to get your emotions and whatnot out in the open, and this is a good way of doing so. Don’t be afraid of expressing yourself, no matter how stupid/angsty you might feel while you’re typing it all out. It’s the internet. Chances are, there are a ton of people who feel the exact same way that you do. Maybe posting this can help them realize something, too.

Don’t freak out because you’re not where you want to be. It’ll be okay.
Simply put,
“Slow down, you’re doing fine. You can’t be everything you want to be before your time.”

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
