OpenSUSE read the recent article about people using SKS keyservers to store magnet links for illegal downloads.

Currently OpenSUSE is evaluating its further use of SKS keyservers due to copyright issues.

Thorston Bro from OpenSUSE wrote:

This might be a copyright problem for organizations and companies
running SKS keyservers and I have an evaluation ongoing if openSUSE can
still provide an SKS keyserver if we face this issue.

The question is, will we see other company's currently in the pool dropout because they are currently storing links to copyrighted material?

What are the consequences for SKS keyservers linking to illegal copyrighted material, will we see court orders for their take down or massive fines or even jail time?

The developers of SKS keyservers have been warned in the past of problems arising due to how their infrastructure operates and there has been no visible plans to change this. Is this going to be the nail in the coffin for SKS keyservers?
