My “now” is where your were “then” — 5'9" and a bit of 300 lbs. I’ve tried six ways from Sunday to drop the weight. Program after program. Although I haven’t gone the personal trainer route. Some of that has to do with money. Some of it has to do with accountability.
I’m not quite as deadline driven. I tend to have an erratic work schedule. I hate being told what to do. Sounds like a lot of excuses, eh?
I also do a lot of the socializing which are nothing more than a foodfests and, unfortunately, my spouse is more of an enabler (she’s also overweight) than a supporter (“Let’s call Papa John’s, honey.”) because neither one of us cook.
I love reading stories like this though. Especially from men. The weight loss industry is soooo targeted to women that it’s implicit that it’s OK for men to be fat.
