Welcome back to everywhere’s local foodie blog which saves lives of lonely rangers and travel newbies. This time I’ll try something entirely different. Instead of reviewing handpicked cafes and restaurants, let’s switch to locations with high density of street food per square meter. Today we are talking about food markets in London with yams from around the world.

#1: Borough market

This should be your #1 stop when in London. Next to Shad in the center of bubbling tourist area Borough is the very first street food market I tried and if you are for guaranteed positive first impression this is no-brainer the place for you. Pick yourself a fresh smoothie before moving to the next spot.

Address: Borough Market, 8 Southwark Street, London, SE1 1TL

Opening times:

  • Mon-Thu, Sat: 10am-5pm
  • Fri: 10am-6pm
  • Sun: Closed

#2: KERB King’s Cross

8+ traders

Visiting this site gives you the best feeling that you are in London. I got here during some fancy retro car show and was pretty impressed by the spirit of the place. Surrounded by offices, neighboring with Kings Kross station and famous Harry Potter 9 1/3

Life hack: if you love indian food then it’s your holy mission to have chicken ruby and masala tea in Dishoom — a Bombay cafe in London near the market.

Address: Granary Square, NC1, London

Opening times:

  • Wed-Fri: 12pm — 2pm

#3: Greenwich food market

This one is the hardest to accidentally crash into while doing sights in the capital merely because it’s far far away from the center. To be precise it is the only historic market set within a World Heritage site in London. Those of you who plan to check out Greenwich observatory make sure you save some time for this place. I’ve been here two times and both visits there was a feeling that I was invited by a family or local community to have some great food (44 stalls) and check out their cool cosy shops. Special note goes to the food itself which is filled with love and garnished with a positive vibes.

Address: Greenwich Market London SE10 9HZ

Opening times:

  • Mon-Sun: 10am — 5.30pm

#4: KERB Camden

34 traders. 7 days a week

This one is my personal favorite. I was so wrong getting right into eating when I saw the KERB sign as there’s hundreds of food spots just next to it. The walk from underground to the market itself is carnival journey and deserves a dedicated post. To be honest this is the biggest place I’ve ever seen and the London only vibrant spirit makes this place a must visit when in British capital and in for a unique bite. Tip: Try buns with pork belly. Absolute muuuust.

Address: Kerb Food Ltd, Unit 62, The Loft, Camden Lock Market, London, NW1 8AF

Opening times:

  • Mon-Thu: 11am-6pm
  • Fri-Sun: 11am-7pm

#5: Pop Brixton

I used to live in Croydon in 2007 and usually changed buses in Brixton. Back then this place didn’t exist. It’s not a 100% street food market as you would think it’s more of a community center with shops and offices run by locals with gorgeous food stalls inside and some of the best craft beers to check out.

Address: 49 Brixton Station Rd, Brixton, London SW9 8PQ, UK

Opening times:

  • Mon, Tue, Wed, Sun: 9am-11pm
  • Thu, Fri, Sat: 9am-12am

Thank you for reading. See you next time.
