Hahah I like that I can’t get out of it without hurting your feelings.
To me, who has never known you face-to-face but has enjoyed your writing for years, it is a surprise. Especially because, like you, I’ve grown up in the church and been taught a lot of the same things, and while I know it’s so much messier and more complicated than the facts you list, I still kind of think those things are true, so what you’re saying is so at odds with what I’ve believed. But also that it’s you who is saying it and I believe what you are saying.

I don’t know how they jive.

I’ve been reading in the Bible chronologically since the start of the year and there are more things in the old testament that I don’t like and have a hard time reading than I care for. It has wide margins and there are lots of angry prayer/rant writings I’ve put in. I don’t know how they jive with my Savior who died once for ALL and not just for straight men wearing robes of one material.

My heart is open to listen to what you have to say. My heart is open to hear what God has to say. I don’t know how they jive, but I’m willing to wrestle with them as long as they don’t.
