How a Bowl of Ramen Led to a Facebook Page

It was just another day, watching YouTube videos on my laptop while I was eating my bowl of ramen.

I’ve done this hundreds of times in the past, but this time was different. I started realizing that maybe other people were doing the same thing as well.

Throughout the years, I have developed a taste for watching videos that make me feel smarter and more knowledgeable while I eat my meals.

Sure, you might say that a lot of things can do this. I could read books, watch documentaries, etc. So what makes this special?

The thing is, a lot of people don’t want to commit the time and effort to finish a book or a feature-length documentary. People having meals by themselves typically only spend 5 to 15 minutes chowing down. It’s not exactly a lengthy amount of time, but if you add that up over a single year, it amounts to many hours of potential learning.

That’s when I started sharing a lot of these videos to my Facebook wall. I noticed more and more people were liking, commenting, and re-sharing my links. So I thought, let’s start a Facebook page dedicated to this.

What is MealTube?

Short, informative videos that you can watch while you eat.

So that’s what MealTube is: a place for you to view short, informative videos that you can watch while you eat. We do our best to find videos that are not only educational, but also entertaining as well. No one wants to watch a dry lecture or speech while they eat. Our number one priority is that it must be educational and entertaining. We want your brain to feel satisfied just as much as your stomach is being satisfied at the same time.

Of course, you can watch these videos while you’re not eating as well (we’re not holding a gun to your head, after all). But for those times when you’re sitting down getting ready to eat by yourself, we hope that you’ll think of us.
