I try to balance cheap fun with choosing the right destination. Some places are just crazy expensive (think London or Hawaii.) They’re also amazing, but sometimes it’s nice to go somewhere cheaper on vacation just so you can relax the budget a bit. I was recently in Asia and I didn’t have to watch every little expense the way I would have had to in Europe because things were cheaper. I still did my normal travel stuff like taking advantage of having breakfast included at my hotel and buying snacks and drinks (and wacky food to bring back as souvenirs) at the supermarket, but when I accidentally paid twice to ride the subway, it didn’t mean that I had to skip dinner because of it.
