Interesting stuff!
I didn’t suppose you were actually arguing against progress, but there’s a tendency among tech folks to romanticize limited tech from the past and cling to old technology and old ideas as a way of legitimizing themselves; a lot of this article came off that way.
I’m not convinced that the web as it currently stands is a bad tool for many of the apps we currently run on it. Not to say it couldn’t be improved, and I’m curious about what specifically in the HTTP specs you think would help, but I don’t think native applications are the answer under any of the current paradigms, outside of mobile.
