We help nonprofit organizations do better online. What could we learn from spending a month in the shoes of the donators and action-takers that those organizations rely on to support their work? That’s what we’re going to find out. A new year, a new world, and a new set of challenges we’re only beginning to understand. We’re going to start 2017 with a month of giving and action–31 days of donating, taking action, and learning something along the way.

Each day during the month of January, we’ll make a donation to a different nonprofit organization and take at least 2 actions on behalf of, or directly related to the work of, that organization.

Those organizations supported will range geographically from local (Portland) to regional (Pacific Northwest) to national to international, and will touch on a range of issues including arts and culture, education, environment, health, homelessness, human rights, humanitarian aid, LGBTQ, media and journalism, and politics. Actions will include signing online petitions, contacting legislators, volunteering, and attending public hearings.

In addition to lending our voice and financial support to these organizations and their causes, we’re excited to collect 31 days of data on how nonprofit organizations of all shapes and sizes present, and guide their supporters through, online giving and action opportunities. We’ll report on which organizations we give to and, after the month is over, we’ll be sharing any insights and patterns that surface.
