How to deal with a difficult boss

Bad bosses abuse their power by targeting individuals through harassment and intimidation. They demand more from you then they are willing to give themselves, Humanity is designed to interact with people, To live meaningful lives. We all have seeds of greatness buried within our souls; External pressures force us to look within ourselves for answers that are not evident.

Here are some practical tips in dealing with a demanding boss:

1)We must adapt to change Being able to adapt to change is required to grow in life, keeping an open mind allows us to see different ways to do things.

2) Don’t let it affect your work No matter how bad your boss behavior, avoid making it affect your work. You want to hold onto your integrity at all cost, If you lose your integrity you lose your influence, you lose your power to make a difference. What you say and Do matters, people watch and mimic behaviors.

3) Set boundaries working with someone who seems to have no boundaries means that you have to go ahead and set them. Keeping open communication and setting boundaries will prevent your boss from taking advantage of you. Ensuring they don’t give you an excessive workload you cannot handle.

4) Act as the leader When dealing with an incompetent boss, sometimes it’s best to make some leadership decisions on your own. Do not undermine your boss always seek the greater Good for everyone and the department before making leadership decisions.

5) Identify Triggers If your boss has anger management problems identify what triggers her meltdowns and be extra militant about avoiding those. For example, if your boss has a pet peeve for tardiness , always make sure to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you are on time for work.
