That’s exactly what I’m talking about. It’s not just my social media handle, it’s my actual freelance business name. In a business context, I don’t feel any less professional for tacking on the word «girl», and I don’t feel taken less seriously for doing it.

I still respectfully disagree with you on this issue. I think we can call ourselves whatever we want – girl, chick, whatever. Saying it’s unprofessional is just policing women more than we are already policed. It’s all how we choose to use it. There is nothing wrong with #girlboss – if it’s not for you, don’t use it but don’t look down on women who do.
