ABS-CBN News continues in rotating anchors to fill-in the slot left by Ted Failon on its primetime newscast TV Patrol, this time one of its former co-anchor Karen Davila, fill-in in the slot, Wednesday evening.

Davila, who served as co-anchor of the newscast together with Failon and Julius Babao from 2004 to 2010, returned to the program after she revealed their son was rushed to the hospital due to seizure.

Davila later transferred to late night newscast Bandila together with Babao after TV Patrol went changes to accommodate the return of Noli De Castro and Korina Sanchez.

The veteran newscaster later hosted morning talk program Head Start over ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), hosted a current affairs show for ABS-CBN News and doing radio for ABS-CBN AM radio station DZMM.

‘’Sa totoo lang, kinakabahan at nininerbyos ako nung una. I haven’t done #TVPatrol in 10 years and I haven’t done #Bandila in almost 7 months,’’ said Davila on her Instagram post, pertaining her late night newscast was hiatus for the longest time due to limitations of ABS-CBN operations, thanks to coronavirus pandemic and non-renewal of its congressional franchise from the House of Representative.

‘’But look how God works. Eto at nakapag-sit in pa ako tonight! Talaga naman si Lord, puro surprise,’’ she added.

Aside from Davila, several ABS-CBN News personnel are also fill-in for the weekday newscast, including its former anchor Julius Babao, weekend TV Patrol anchors Alvin Elchico and Zen Hernandez and news reporter and former Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG) host Jorge Carino.

ABS-CBN news is not yet naming a permanent replacement in the slot vacated by Failon at TV Patrol after the veteran broadcaster transferred to TV5 earlier this month.
