Blockchain is rapidly making its way through all the leading industries and markets that can benefit from faster, secure and low-cost digital transactions. Healthcare is not unaffected by this revolution. Medipedia has proven to be one of the most successful and innovative blockchain projects working on improving the quality and reach of Medical Tourism services around the world.

The Medipedia project regularly gets appreciations from the industry leaders and experts who realize how the project is actually contributing to the growth of the healthcare sector. The latest in the series was a mention of Medipedia in a Forbes article, which was written by Gina Clarke on the topic “Why The NHS Should Invest In Blockchain If It Wants To Live Forever”, which explains why it is time for the NHS (National Health Services) of the UK to start contributing in the Blockchain. In other terms, the article discusses the reasons why blockchain has become a necessity for the survival of the healthcare industry and why those who are not yet involved in it are missing out a lot.

This is not the first time when an article or blog on a reputed website was written about the importance of the blockchain technology in the healthcare industry. In fact, Medipedia is not the only project working in that direction. Many countries are now actively utilizing or looking for ways to start utilizing blockchain for the growth of their own health services.

In Korea, while medical tourism industry is flourishing, it is still not easy for medical tourists to find correct medical information and connect with good doctors and clinics on the go. Medipedia helps by offering a blockchain-based platform that aims to decentralize the medical information and records so that they are publicly available to enable patients to find and connect with the right medical providers at the right time.

The Forbes Article mentions Medipedia as a project that provides “greater sense of choice and autonomy” to its users (medical tourists). It further goes on saying that the Medipedia project is already getting attention ahead of its token sale which is scheduled in October 2018. Organisations like the National Health Services (NHS) in the UK can learn from its model for the growth of their own health services and offerings.

This is a proud moment for the Medipedia team, its users, participants and investors. We only desire to move forward from here and help and inspire as many people as possible while ensuring everyone’s reach to quality healthcare services in the country. The Medipedia platform will eventually move on to start providing services in other countries as well. While the blockchain enables a global access, the actual service delivery is another matter. Check out the Medipedia roadmap for details about the future plans of the project.
