V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is one of the oldest universities in Ukraine, it was founded in 1804 and is named after famous Russian enlightenment figure and inventor Vasily Kharkiv. Karazin University as it’s colloquially known is the best-ranked university in Ukraine according to QS World University Rankings 2018. The university is located in Kharkiv, Ukraine and boasts over 210 years of history and 3 winners of the Nobel Prize to date. Well, known physicians and scientists have taught at the faculty of medicine and have made significant scientific discoveries. Currently, the university is host to over 4500 foreign students and 350 teachers with the number of associate professors being 1000. Alumni from Karazin University include 3 Nobel Prize winners, who won the prize in Medicine, Physics and Economic Sciences.

Medicine in English 6 Years: €4030 per year (or $4600)

• The first three years being pre-clinical in nature with a heavy emphasis on the fundamental subjects; Anatomy, History of Medicine, Histology, Embryology, Psychology, Biological and Bio-organic Chemistry, and Biophysics for example.

• The next three years are clinical with a focus on surgery and preventative medicine with elective courses and practical training offered. The last year has more of an emphasis on practical work and sub-internships are offered in hospitals and clinics.
