inita this world

This city is no place to think or feel
when all you can feel is hot
and all you can think is ice
in a glass full of beer
shared by one, two, maybe eight friends
some dear, some false, some you just met
some you may never see again
in a setting such as this;
a dimly lit, electric sunset
that fuels rechargeable dreams
singed off at the seams — or so it seems
your mind sets,
slits —
opens up for words
down for the word count
sip some more of this watery gold
and pray that you’ll sleep
a little bit better than yesterday
get some sleep today
tomorrow’s here.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
