The Day I Stopped Walking

I still remember that day as if it was yesterday. Wait… it was yesterday! It started out just like any other day until “knock” “knock”

The good man from FedEx is at the door with a 12 kg package for me. It was the moment where the past and the future met. In my possession was the object with many and no name; some inappropriately call it the hoverboard, others the electric wheels. I prefer the “self balancing scooter”.

Out of the box, two things I had to do: push the power button and correct Neil Armstrong’s line… “That’s one small step for man, one awesome ride for mankind”

Getting on or off of it for the first time is not easy. You will lose your balance for sure. Yet, before you know it, you’re standing a few inches taller and moving around effortlessly. Your little brain binds to it to a level of second nature. Some will tell you that if you want to move forward, backwards or turn, the board will do it as if it read your mind. The reality is not far from that.

The experience of cruising on one of these is so magical, I’m not gonna walk anymore!
