But it’s also true that anyone who is curious, smart and engaged can work in a digital culture and use digital ways of working if they’re given the right environment, tools, training and leadership.

This is so extremely true. Often organizations are scared to invest and develop their people just because they don’t know what it takes. Also, it’s not automatic that new hires can perform better because they often lack of the basic innovation capabilities (design literacy, managing complexity, decision making, etc…) that go much beyond social media or being DevOps. Organizations must be lucky to meet good partners that can help in this — complex and challenging — process.
