How to tell the difference between a real and fake Acne Canada scarf

With all of the fakes out there on Poshmark, eBay, and beyond, I thought I’d show you a side-by-side of what a real scarf and a fake one look like. Here it goes!

1. The Labels

Real on the left, Fake on the right.

Not a whole lot of difference in the Acne Studios top label, but the second wool label (pictured above on the right) just looks sloppy with uneven spacing between the letters.

2. The Fringe

Real on the left, Fake on the right

This one doesn’t appear as clearly in photos. The real version feels a lot more fluffy in comparison. While both are twisted, the twists are more hidden in the real one because they are surrounded by wool fluff.

As for the size, they are nearly identical so there will be no accurate tell there. If you are thinking about purchasing from a secondhand retailer, ask for close-ups of the label of the actual item as well as the fringe.
