Stop thinking. Start doing.

Why your mind is like quicksand.

I am happy. My life? It’s great. Are there things I’d probably rather be doing? Of course, I think this holds true for all of us. Am I doing those things? Um…not really. But, why not?

Because our brains, are bitches. That’s why. You think about something you really want to do, then your mind takes over…filling with doubt, fear, and reasons to back down before you even begin. Wait, rewind! You “think.” That is the first mistake. Thinking. Then overthinking. Then overanalyzing the overthinking. Questions surround your idea like quicksand, and you’re left where you started…paralyzed, not moving. So you step down. Again.

What if we did things differently? What if we just: DID. THINGS.

I’m not talking about quitting everything and jumping off a cliff into “dream canyon.” I’m just talking about once a day…skipping the “thinking” part.

Do one thing each day. One little action to get you closer to that ultimate goal. Whether it’s an e.mail, phonecall, physically going somewhere, or saving an extra buck to make your big trip, idea, or endeavor possible. Just DO something. Write it down, and cross it off your list. Every day.

My guess is, a year from now…you’ll be 365 steps closer to living your dream, kicking more ass, taking more names, and having even more smiles on that adorable face of yours.

Now, stop reading, stop thinking, and start doing.

Go.
