A new way to think
I have been practising a new way to think about my beliefs.
Here is how it goes. You take an idea which you think is true. Then you think about why you think it is true. What are the assumptions, observations, experiences that made you arrive at the conclusion.
Following this method, I have realised that so many of my conclusions stand on a shaky ground. So many times I hear something from somewhere, and make it a basis for forming conclusions. Not a very good way to form beliefs.
I will put in concrete examples soon.
