The newly redesigned platform does not support the older highlight feature. Our Product Team is aware of this, and they’re currently exploring other options on how to help organizers to highlight their Meetup events.

Thanks for sharing your concerns regarding line breaks in Meetup event descriptions. Our Product Team is aware that line breaks are not currently supported on the newly redesigned platform, so they’re working hard to improve and update functionality on the editor tools to allow line breaks.
We can definitely see where you’re coming from. It sounds like being able to take an at-a-glance look at a Meetup group’s total number of events helped give members a better idea of the group’s activity. Currently, marking members as no shows or taking attendance for past Meetups is unavailable.
We heard you, and we’re on it. We’re adding the ability to mark no-shows. It’ll be available on the web in mid February 2018…

As of this writing, we received a couple of reports of organizers who were not able to upload and save changes to their cover photos and Meetup event feature photos. However, we have not heard anything regarding Meetup event payment methods and policies changing…
We can see where you’re coming from. We want our members to be able to easily find active, vibrant Meetup groups, which is why an active subscription is currently needed to keep a Meetup group live.
