If you’re anything like me, the last few months of being trapped in an apartment has made you appreciate the freedom of travel more than ever. Even crossing the border to Canada for a weekend may seem like the grandest of adventures.

In a post-coronavirus world, travel experts predict that people will want more authentic experiences away from crowds and focused more on outdoor adventure.

Now is the perfect time to plan just such a trip while you still have space in your schedule and some lingering motivation.

The good news is, you probably have more time than ever to get to know a place before even stepping off the plane.

Thorough research can make the difference between a canned experience and one that’s unique to the type of traveler you are. Plus, it’s something to do and an excuse to day dream about better times.

Before booking a hotel or a tour operator, call to ask what they do to be sustainable and if they employ people from local communities. If not, then narrowing down options is easier.
